Currently, I’m working on a project that examines how differentially promotable leaders are perceived depending on their race (White/Asian) and sex (male/female).  There are two major questions that I want to answer:

  • Does the race and sex of leaders affect the mental image that people create of them, even when they’re saying the same words and taking the same actions?
  • Do these different mental images affect how promotable the leaders seem to the people observing them?
